Modeling microplastic transport in rivers; investigating boundaries and discretization strategies for meshless approach to the discrete Boltzmann equation
I will present current results from my recent studies in two loosely related areas. The first part of the talk will be devoted to the numerical modeling of fluid flow in a joint porous-bulk domain, which aims at supporting and explaining phenomena observed in an experiment of microplastic transport through porous media and in idealized river bed. The study is being performed in collaboration with the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, University of Ljubljana. The other part of the talk will concern the investigation of the impact of the discretization type and no-slip walls implementation on the accuracy and stability of a meshless scheme for the discrete Boltzmann equation.
